Winter Vacation in Alta Badia

Alpine skiing. Cross-country skiing. Winter paradise. Enjoyment

Corvara is one of the most popular winter holiday resorts throughout Italy. Gorgeous winter landscapes surrounded by the unique mountain scenery of the Dolomites: Alta Badia is truly a special kind of winter wonderland.

Whether alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, winter hiking, snowboarding, or simply taking a stroll in the snow, you will find your own personal winter highlight here.

Skiing

The Alta Badia ski area offers 53 comfortable and fast ski lifts, 130 km of the best prepared ski slopes, and access to the Dolomiti Superski area with over 500 km of slopes, which is the largest ski area in the Alps. The family ski area is one of South Tyrol’s most popular ski areas. Inviting huts with exquisite cuisine top off a perfect skiing experience in the Dolomites.

The two most important access points and lifts, the “Boé” and “Col Alt”, are only a stone’s throw away from the Monte Pallidi: you can set out from here in the morning and then ski right back to the house in the evening.

The Sellaronda

Starting in Corvara is the famous Sellaronda, a breathtaking ski excursion that leads around the Sella massif, from which you can reach all 5 Ladin valleys (Val Badia, Val Gardena, Val di Fassa, Livinalongo, and Cortina). Thanks to the uniqueness of the mountains, the adventurous ski runs, and the impressive altitude differences, the Sellaronda is one-of-a-kind throughout the world.

Cross-Country Skiing

On 30 km of cross-country trails surrounded by the summits of the Dolomites, cross-country skiers will find the best conditions for a winter vacation here in Corvara. Whether classic technique or skating, the trails in the cross-country skiing center of Alta Badia in San Cassiano/Armentarola and in the cross-country skiing area around Corvara are excellently prepared and offer wonderful cross-country skiing conditions until into spring.

Winter Hiking

In Alta Badia, there are 80 km of carefully prepared, well-signposted winter hiking paths. A special experience are snowshoe hikes through the snow-covered fields and forests. If you have ever been on such a hike in the sunshine with fresh snow, you won’t want to do anything else!
