Alta Badia

Vacation in the heart of the Dolomites

The Alta Badia vacation region is located in the Val Badia in South Tyrol and includes the Ladin-speaking communities of Corvara, Badia, and La Val.
Awaiting you in the middle of the UNSECO world heritage site of the Dolomites is gorgeous mountain scenery that is unique in both summer and winter.

Corvara – Your holiday resort

Our popular South Tyrolean holiday resort is located at an elevation of 1,500 m. Here in the valley head of the southern Val Badia, you have a fantastic view of the Sassongher, the local mountain and landmark of Corvara. The town is surrounded by the Sella group, the Fanes group, and the Puez Geisler Nature Park.

The ca. 1,400 residents of the community of Corvara are spread out over the towns of Corvara, Calfosch, and Pescosta.

Ladin Culture

Ladin is currently spoken by around 30,000 native speakers and is one of Europe’s smallest language communities.

Ladin was once the most widely spoken language in the Alpine region. Today, it is only spoken only in the Val Badia and Val Gardena as well as in the Fassa Valley (Trentino province), Buchenstein, Ampezzo (Belluno province), and the Swiss canton of Graubünden.

Traditions are preserved among the Ladin people, and our vacation guests can thus gain interesting insight into Ladin ways of life on the street, in restaurants, or at various festivals and events.

Summer Vacation

In summer, Corvara is the perfect starting point for sporty activities in the Dolomites. Two nature parks, the Puez-Geisler and Fanes-Senes-Prags Nature Park, are located nearby. Big and little as well as young and old will find a diverse offer of walking and hiking paths, excursion opportunities, mountain tours, via ferrata climbs, and bike paths. Modern huts and hill farms with delicious refreshments top off your mountain experience in the Dolomites.
